How ZOPE approaches brand shoots

A brand shoot in Dubai has to compete with some of the most polished content in the world. Hotels, fashion houses and car brands here shoot at a campaign level every month, so a product photographed on a plain table and posted the next day disappears in the feed. A ZOPE brand shoot starts from what the brand is trying to say. We write a short treatment, choose the location and cast to match it, and plan every frame so the photos, the brand film and the reels all come from the same idea.

Most brands come to us for a launch, a new season or a refresh of everything they post. In one shoot day we can deliver a campaign set of graded stills, a 30 to 90 second brand film, and vertical cut-downs for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. If your brand also sells in India, the same director can shoot the India chapter so both markets see one look.

We shoot across Dubai, from cyc studios in Al Quoz to rooftops in Downtown and the desert outside the city. Commercial work in public places needs a filming permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission, and we file it as part of production.

Planning tips

— Decide where the content will run first. A campaign for billboards and one for Instagram need different framing.

— Bring your brand guidelines, past campaigns you liked and ones you didn't. They save a day of back-and-forth.

— Book outdoor Dubai shoots between October and April, or plan early mornings and studio days in summer.

What makes a ZOPE brand shoot different from a freelancer?

You get a director, not only a camera operator. We write the concept, plan the shot list, run the set and grade the result, so the photos, film and reels all look like one campaign.

What does a shoot cost?

Brand productions in Dubai start from AED 10,000 and in India from ₹1,00,000. Personal and influencer shoots are priced lower. You get a written quote after a short brief call.

Do we need a filming permit in Dubai?

Commercial work such as ads, brand films and TV content needs a permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission. We prepare and file it as part of production. Personal shoots such as pre-wedding and private events normally do not need one. Read our permit guide in the Journal for the details.

How far ahead should we book?

Two to three weeks is comfortable for most brand shoots. Campaigns that need permits, casting or government locations need four to six weeks. Smaller shoots can sometimes happen within a few days, so message us on WhatsApp.

What do we receive and when?

You get graded stills, a hero film and vertical reels sized for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, depending on the package. We agree the delivery date in the quote before the shoot.
