How ZOPE approaches ad films

An ad film is the most expensive minute a brand buys, so it should be planned like one. ZOPE produces TV commercials, YouTube pre-roll and social ads in Dubai from the first idea to the final grade. We can write the script from your brief or work from your agency's script, and every ad gets a director's treatment, a storyboard or shot list, and a casting and location plan before anything is booked.

On set you get a director, a director of photography, a lighting and grip team, sound, styling and hair and make-up. After the shoot we edit, grade, mix and deliver every version your media plan needs: the hero cut, 15 and 6 second edits, and 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 crops. Planning all of these before the shoot is what keeps the cost under control.

Commercials filmed in Dubai need a permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission, and some locations need script approval, which can take up to 25 business days. We build that into the schedule from day one.

Planning tips

— Lock the media plan before the shoot, so every cut-down and aspect ratio is shot, not cropped.

— Allow time for DFTC script approval if your ad uses government locations.

— Cast early. Good faces in Dubai get booked weeks ahead in the season.

Do you write the script?

Yes. We can write from your brief or shoot your agency's script. Every ad gets a director's treatment before we schedule the shoot.

Do we need a filming permit in Dubai?

Commercial work such as ads, brand films and TV content needs a permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission. We prepare and file it as part of production. Personal shoots such as pre-wedding and private events normally do not need one. Read our permit guide in the Journal for the details.

How many versions do we get?

We plan for a hero cut plus 15 s and 6 s versions in the aspect ratios your media plan needs. Extra versions are quoted up front.

What does a shoot cost?

Brand productions in Dubai start from AED 10,000 and in India from ₹1,00,000. Personal and influencer shoots are priced lower. You get a written quote after a short brief call.

How far ahead should we book?

Two to three weeks is comfortable for most brand shoots. Campaigns that need permits, casting or government locations need four to six weeks. Smaller shoots can sometimes happen within a few days, so message us on WhatsApp.
